Seeking Participants for Doctoral Research Study on College Preparation for Students with Usher Syndrome (USH)

Inviting college students with Usher Syndrome to share their transition and college preparation experiences from high school into college to provide insights for families, educators, and professionals.

Recruiting participants for a doctoral research study who:
  1. Have been formally diagnosed, identify, or self-report as having Usher Syndrome (all types).
  2. Are currently enrolled in a community college, university, state college, or other postsecondary 2-4 year technical program in the United States.
  3. Are between the ages of 18-30.
  4. Willing to participate in an online interview, focus group session, and answer follow-up questions. Approximately 3-4 hours of time commitment.
 
  • ALL communication modes are welcome. Researcher is fluent in ASL, TASL, English, Close Vision, etc. and interpreting/caption support also available.
 
  • Participants will receive a $25 Amazon Gift card and a $5 Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts Gift Card for answering follow-up questions after the study.

An Institutional Review Board responsible for human participant research at The University of Northern Colorado reviewed this research project and found it to be in accordance with applicable state and federal regulations and University policies designed to protect the rights and welfare of participants in research.
